I'm trying to experiment with the heightfield make river operator. But it doesn't seem to do anything. It popup a window saying tg is "carving river". This takes some time. Then I get a "heightfield make river" node, but no river apears in the terrain. Actually, the terrain doesn't change at all.
Also every little change I make to the "heightfield make river" node immediately popup the same window "carving river", which again takes some time. It is a little ridiculous, because if I want to change a value, say, to 50, and I start typing down 5.. it immediately popup the window again and doesn't wait for me to finish typing. Maybe there should be an apply button...
So, how do I make a river bed in tg2? Bear in mind I'm a noob in tg so there is probably a simple way, but I just don't know it...

At the moment I beleive that the make river opterator does not funtion (along with a lot of other things) and will be fixed some time in the future. till then you could try usingand and image map for displacment and but into PS or Gimp or even Paint and traw your river.

The world is round... so you have to use spherical projection.

Well, try a search on the topic - it is already covered.
It does work - at least for me.
The river started at the lower left corner and is in the beginning very short. By setting the end's coordinates the river gets longer.

As far as I recall, by disabling the river-node the calculating does not go on - but I am not too sure.

Sorry, should have searched before asking, you're right.

Anyway for those who search the topic and get here, here's a couple of threads on the issue:
