Parrot69

This is my first render, took 3/4 days to make, hopefully because I am learning. What you think??

Seth

good terrain, good light , nice postwork and i like the way you put your stones !
good job ! ^^

Volker Harun

Agree with Seth ... fine use of colours and image-maps (for the erosion-flow) ... it is obvious that I took care for this first one!

domdib

Excellent first render - look forward to seeing more.

Thank you guys!  ;D
The water was (is) the main problem, looks fake and couldn't get any transparency even after I downloaded a transparent cube here on the forum. By itself it is transparent once in the scene it is not, even playing with the distance etc. The pond on the left is a lake object, the one on the right is the cube. Not to mention the lack of thin shore foam etc., for which there is no solution I guess but in post. Sadly I am pretty much useless with a tablet...  ::)

MacGyver

Looks very good, like an old photograph :)

nice terrain and surfaces...the water could be deeper than you think?...increase then values for decay distance and transparency alot and see what happens?

schmeerlap

Excellent first posted render. Yes that's right, it's Decay Distance and a light coloured Decay Tint that makes transparency more visible.

I hope I realise I don't exist before I apparently die.

If this is your first, it's incredible.  Great job!
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

dandelO

You say a cube. Do you mean a plane?

Regardless, check that 'cast shadows' isn't checked in that object. I'm betting that's the problem of no transparency in the water.

If it is indeed some kind of cube.obj, also ensure that 'double sided surface' is un-checked, you should see beneath it then.

dandelO

Sorry, should have also said:

It looks fantastic, really well done.

Parrot69

Oops cast shadow IS checked, I will try later without it, thanks! But the pond on the right is not an object, it is a TG lake... so there is no shadow, yet it is not transparent either. I definitely need to practice more with water, but it's so slow....

Lower stone areas are excellent.
