'Dino Desert' or 'Gang of Brothers'

This actually grew from a setup to test coloration of a population of simple grass, and it's not perfect, but I wanted to share it anyway. Found the TRex on the internet as an LWO. I intend to give them a more individual coloration with my pop-color-method, as they are too much a gang of brothers now. The soft sand (favor depressions) is displaced by some functions.

Nice! I like the landscape, the grass, the idea and all the other stuff. But I do not like the TRex population,  I would prefer only one TRex or different models. It is too obvious that only one object is used.
Mouthwash? We don't need no stinking mouthwash!! [MI2]

The T-rex population looks a little like geese facing into a wind. It's a good model though. I like the population density for the other objects, fits the climate.
Recently they found a T-rex cousin which is much smaller. If you were to group them in a defensive stance with  large T-rex threatening them, it may be decent dramatically. It would be better to deform the model for more poses.

The distribution of the grass and the ground displacements are very realistic! Good work!

I know they all look the same, but I'm not a modeler, so I wouldn't know how to bend their knees. Perhaps using just a few would give a more realistic idea. And of course all the brothers heading for the water makes them look the same as well. Your idea about the defensive circle is nice, njeneb.
Here's another gang (one population), but if you look closely, you'll see the beasts are individually colored, using my method of image map projection. Originally 1920x1200px, it took 8 hours to render on 0.65 and AA7, due to the reflective mud, the water and the high cloud samples necessary (128 or so). No GI, just 3 extra fill lights.

The second image is much better is some respects. The dinos look better. I like the terrain is the first render better.

Landscape is very nicely done, though something different in the background would a little more interesting, too.
So this is Disney World.  Can we live here?

The first one looks like there are roads in the sand... maybe they knew more than we think they did? Maybe they were smart enough to build cities and roads but the asteroid that wiped out the dinos hit T-Rex City...
They just issued a tornado warning and said to stay away from windows. Does that mean I can't use my computer?
