Building a Rendering Rig...1,800$ to spend...

Alright after talking to my Grandfather about rendering and how it is "possible" to make money from it he has given me 1,800 dollars to build a rig...and now I'm wondering what in the world should I put inside of it? I am gonna put in an AMD proccesser but which one? I am also gonna put in An ATI Graphics Card...but once again which one or how many o.o...Also should I watercool it or buy hella fans for it? and is 12 Gigs of DDR3 ram too much? That motherboard seems to have quite a bit built in, I don't know about AMD as I've gone the Intel route, I got an ATI 4870 1gb which is working nicely but it's an absolute monster of a card and covers one of the PCI slots next to it so I can only use one of the two. Don't think you can have too much memory but you have to take into consideration what OS you are using as XP 32bit as far as I know only supports upto 3gb. Seem to have decent inbuilt sound on MB so you could probably try the on board first before buying a separate card if sound quality isn't up to scratch.

if your going to O.C. a water cooled setup would probaly be your best bet for serious O.C.(this is coming from the advice of a friend of mine, not me)
though i think a good cpu fan/heatsink would be good, too(not the stock fans)

i avoid integrated graphics cards on motherboards, they tend use processing power from the CPU, reducing performance, though i think using actual graphics card would fix that.

Theres plenty of room to tweak around with the specs a little and move stuff around depending on what stats you want, but thats basically where id start, prob then would buy a semi decent fan to replace the default + artic silver and then oc the cpu a little.

Though I havn't double checked all the hardware for compatibility, could be something up with them, but it should be good basically...
