Here's a WIP of a scene using Walli's trees (Pine & broken) - thanks Walli, and also Sonshine777's logs. Both modified a little for the snow.
The lighting is not to my liking yet but other than that it's not too bad? - any comments/suggestions  welcome.

Agreed... maybe change the POV slightly to get in the tops of some trees. It feels like it lacks depth (as you say, your lighting doesn't help at the mo). Or maybe get something (a tree, bush) close to the camera to look past. Promising, so keep at it.

I see what you mean, they are slightly blurred looking. The texture is the same as used on the pines. But I had to re-orientate them 90 degrees to make the snow effect lay in the correct plane just for these logs. I'll work on that and the lighting.
