Hi,

I'm learning to create trees in XFrog.

Feel free to download two Autumn Trees, Maple and Red Oak.

You may already have similar trees but, enjoy them anyway.

As my skill level increases I will post a variety of trees and ground cover for members of the Forum to download.

If you have problems with the trees, let me know. I tested them on this end and they worked perfect.

Thank you Marc. More trees are a good thing. I will enjoy using them, they look great.

MGebhart i personally love to having more trees but are this fully original? You may have problems otherwise distributing these.
Here was a time that one person had problems...no need to dig up old wounds.

http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=4425.0    one example of this kind of topics.

Just that you know in case if you not...
Otherwise have fun and thanks  :)

I believe he is using XFrog. I am not sure, but I think Walli is using XFrog for his plants.

Yes, these were created from the ground-up however, I did use samples in XFrog as a guide to create them. I'm still learning and I need to see end results as I put together the trunk, branches and leaf components. I hope this is not an issue with Greenworks.

Kadri,

I read the Topic you provided. My feeling is this, what's the point of purchasing XFrog with all the alleged restrictions. My intention is not to sell for profit. I'm confident many will disagree with my interpretation but, I could care less. If Greeworks feels they need to go after me so be it. I can't imagine they would use the resources and cost to chase me down. I had the same problem when I modeled Cessna Aircraft for the simulator XPlane. They did contact me. All I had to do was NOT use the Cessna name and Logo and all was well.  The attached image is the cessna model which was modified by the person I turned my company over to. (Cessnas only)

Create a readme file and give Greenworks' XFrog credit. Give a link to their site. Maybe add some comments about how useful the program is. Flattery and promotion are never wasted.

Maybe users like Walli and such can say more specific things. But if they are fully from ground-up there may not problems. Don't use original trees and textures.
Then there is not a problem i think. Reading the XFrog licence carefully would help too.

These are not nice things to say but i want only that you are cautious for yourself  :)

Cheers.

Henry,

I will include a text file containing the information you suggested. Thanks for the tip.

I didn't want to say anything more (I share your feelings)... but there is a   but.
If there are  original textures or objects in your trees i don't think that will help.

If only there was not such restrictions ! These firms want/needs to make money  and this is a long debate i can not further keep on with my english  :)

Anyway...
I downloaded it  and thanks again MGebhart.

Kadri,

I'm just messing around. I appreciate your input. If this ends up being a problem I will just remove the post.

Thanks again,

Well, I am not only using Xfrog to model the plants I give away, or the few I am offering on nwda or on turbosquid for example. Apart from that: If you know my real name (which is not hard to find out) and compare that to the splash screen of Xfrog 3.5 for example, or with the pdf´s that come with Xfrog products, then you´ll notice something ;-)

All content created and delivered by Xfrog is of course copyrighted by Xfrog. You are not allowed to give away models or textures, that have been created by Xfrog/Greenworks. You are not allowed to take original models, change them and give them away, let it be for free or on a commercial base. And Xfrog of course is interested in protecting its property. I mean, you are also not allowed to take parts of the code of Terragen and redistribute.
However, you can of course create your own textures and models from scratch. They are yours.

By the way, the trees look nice.

I am going to redo the trees and make them radically different. They should be done in a couple days.
