Hi
I'm new here and read all the information in the boards. My skills in TG are very small and my method is "TRY AND ERROR". I want to show you my mushroom-test. In german we call them "Fliegenpilz":

Because my native language isn't English, I have some problems to describe things or use the correct words. Sorry.

Welcome! Your mushrooms are very nice, are they inverted craters?

Also I would like to point you towards MeltingIces Gallery: http://www.meltingice.net/usergallery/index.php
                                                   The .TGD Repository: http://www.meltingice.net/userdownload/index.php?direction=0&order=&
                                                   PATHS: http://designpaths.com/
Each has great stuff to get you off on the right foot.

Agree with Will!

Geile Pilze!
Herumspielen (Try&Error) ist schon richtig. Nach ein paar Wochen hat man das richtige Gefühl :)

Cool Mushrooms!
Try&Error is a good way. After a few weeks of fiddling around you get a feeling for it.

Haha, that looks really cool, quite convincing!
In Dutch we call them "vliegenzwam", for those who would like to get their tongue twisted  :P
Don't forget to look at Will's links above this post, it's a great learning source and of course a source of inspiration.

p.s. offtopic: good to see you post bilingual Volker

Hi Will
Yes, they are inverted craters with fake stones shaders.
Thx for the gallery- and downloadtipps.
I'm very interested in 3D and use to make my cross-eyed-pictures normaly with my digicam. Therefore I tried to build a group of "mushroom-craters" in TG2 to a 3D-image. It works.

Do you mean making the red-green channels so the image looks 3D with glasses? Becuase there is a thread on that.

Will

I use 2 methods to create the pictures:
with the red-cyan channels with the glasses and the side-by-side mounting for my preferred cross-eyed-view. The shown mushrooms  are so.
To get the effect you have to focus the left picture with the right eye and the right pic with the left eye. You will get 3 pictures. The picture in the middle will be seen in 3D.
I can offer a how-to - but only in german: http://www.fotocommunity.de/pc/pc/display/1032314

Welcome aboard Peter!  Nice job with the mushrooms.  One Terragen resource that Will didn't mention was www.ashundar.com, where we have contests, galleries, and forums.
http://www.terragen.org - A great Terragen resource with models, contests, galleries, and forums.

Yea forgot to put that on, I guess I asume everyone already knows hehe.
