I've been fighting with a scene for the last few weeks and it is driving me crazy... So I took a break and whipped this up in a couple hours.  I really love how fast space scenes render.  On an old computer this rendered at 1920x1200 in less than an hour.  The starfield is Moodflows procedural clip.

Looks like you've been fighting with that planet instead of the image ;)

Thanks!  There is nothing wrong with this one, it was just a little render while I fight with an as yet unpublished scene.

I know! Space scenes always render faster! Cool planet, but the atmosphere could be darkened a bit...
They just issued a tornado warning and said to stay away from windows. Does that mean I can't use my computer?

I dunno, I think the contrast between the light and dark side really add a nice touch.

Sometimes just messing around works. Nice bit of messing around!

I see, I misread your explanation. Thanks for clearing that up, I somehow knew there was nothing wrong with this image :P

very cool, I may fire up my old imac(400mhz processor!!) and try  to crank out a space scene whilst it hibernates in the loft!!
cheers for the inspiration!
