export populations

Is there a way to export populations or at least the position data of the objects in the populations?

Not yet, but we be plan to include this in the import/export work this year.

It would be nice to have populations cache that would be saved simultaneously with a .tgd.

I second this. And would like to add that a ' soft map' of the population would be handy. Within TG, with soft (!) white dots where the instances are, so that this can be used as a blendshader. It would for instance be handy to distribute fallen leaves, or snow pile-up around tree trunks.
