Image files for textures

I have an single object with multiple surfaces that I'm importing into TG3.
All the surfaces use the same image map for the diffuse color.
How does TG3 handle the images as far as memory and rendering goes?
Does it take up more memory having multiple shaders or would it be better to have a single shader?
Thanks.

It's best to import the texture once and link the parts to that image map shader or default shader inside TG. I did that in a town I did a while ago, which had a lot of buildings, many using the same stone texture. A bit of work, but saves a lot of memory. If you don't have the memory, that is.

Thanks for the info.
I assume your doing the linking through the node editor?
thanks

Yes, put the image file somewhere, give it a very recognizable name (add an A in front if you want it on top of the list of shaders that appear on rightclick), and then link to it from inside the objects.
