Render slows down

I'm rendering a 1200 x 800 image with quality of .7, AA of 7, GI both on 4.  It renders fine until it reaches the lower left corner....a one inch by one inch square takes forever and the CPU is using only 25%. I have a quad core, 6gig Ram....does anyone know what is going on???  The image is 95% complete but at this rate it will take 3 more days to finish rendering just the small corner....what can I do?
Thanks!

all threads have finished their render buckets but one thread is still chewing on its part. Hence you only have 25% CPU usage (assuming you were rendering with 4 threads initially).
This particular corner must have something very heavy on the CPU, it's hard to say what it is without knowing the scene network and maybe a screenshot would help too.

Thanks Frank,
I was thinking along those lines as the lower left corner is closest to the camera and much more detail is required. I'm going to shut it down and slightly move the POV higher and more to the right....also lower the quality and AA a bit. Hopefully I'll post it in the next 24hrs or so....
Thanks

I would abort the render and save the result.
Then make a crop render of that unfinished region + some extra overlap.
Now this last part will be finished much faster and you can easily postprocess it in.

One thing to do is be patient. I have a 2.4 Quad myself 1333 MHz Bus and my last TG2.1 render took 12:57:07 at 1024x768. Couldn't get it to render any larger because TG would crash while rendering with C++ Errors. It will be worth it if you wait, I assure you. TU's suggestion is a good one. What GHz Quad do you have?

Also, what were your render settings?
