TG2 running on Ubuntu with Wine?

Is it possible to run TG2 on Ubuntu with the Wine application?
I ask this because under my current 32bits XP it's not possible to allocate enough memory to TG2, even with the /3GB switch on. A 64bits OS would allow TG2 to use (most of) the 8GB RAM installed on the system but Win7 is a bit too costly at the moment. That's why I was thinking about Ubuntu: It's free and with Wine installed I heard you could run Windows apps under Ubuntu.

I've tried something like that months ago... You can surely run TG2 on linux, but performance won't be at their top (but I don't know if with 2.1 version changed this situation).
Also UI shows some imperfections...

Generally TG2 has *rendered* ok on Linux, even with decent performance, but the UI is often too corrupted to work properly. The other thing is you could only use up to 4GB of RAM max since TG2 is a 32 bit application currently. And I'm not sure whether WINE even supports Large Address Awareness.

Some research revealed WINE is 32bits and will not support Large Address Awareness.  :(
Looks like I'll have to do some more saving and sweet talk the misses to buy me a copy of Win7 64bits.

Wine *IS* supporting the Large Address Awareness !

Info: http://www.winehq.org/announce/1.1.24, read "winebuild: Implement a --large-address-aware flag."

WINE also can run 64 bit Window applications natively.
