It's been a while since I have made anything with Terragen, mainly because I have only just recently finished my first short animated film (www.sneezemeaway.com). So I really wanted to get down with the 2.1 release of TG2 with the following image. Most of the major terrain was generated in the Standard Edition of World Machine, as are the base colour maps. Final colour correction and post completed in Nuke. This image is completed in my favourite hyper-real style, enjoy.

Hey Ryan, great to see you back and that you're back with TG2. I'll check your showreel after posting here :)

This is quite refreshing work, especially the concept. I like the different waterlevels and the plateau.
The displacements on the plateau are a bit messy but they certainly work for cracky rockformations.
Very nice buildup of depth, but somehow I feel there's some detail lacking but I can't say right now what exactly.
The sky and colors are very cool, though I'm not very keen on the thick cumuluslayer. Did you postwork that rainbow/bliss like thing to the upper right? Looks cool :)

Looking forward to see more of your work!

Cheers,
Martin

This is very 'Lost World' . I really like it.

Not my preferred style , but i like this image. You know your work Njen  :)
The only thing i don't like so much is the fog (cloud?) . I would like to see your picture more clearly .

Cheers.

Kadri.

This is an awesome render.

I love the style and composition; such a beautiful and excellent render.  Thanks for the inspiration!  Linda

Very unique. I like the mood. The fog could use a smaller value in the "smallest scale"-tab and a higher roughness value in the density tab of the density fractal shader.
Additionally I have to say that I am not really a friend of too much writing in images.

schmeerlap

This is a wonderful fantasy landscape; very pleasing on the eye.
You can get that kind of flat-sided effect on cumulous clouds when you encase them in a spherical flavoured Distance shader.
Excellent work.

I hope I realise I don't exist before I apparently die.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I was extremely happy with how this image turned out myself.

Hannes: I am not fond of putting too much writing in my images either, but I've had some of my work used without my permission before, so now it's kind of a necessity.

Henry Blewer

I have had a few images turn up elsewhere also, but the upload time can settle any disputes about the image. (I use an embedded date stamp and logo/name. It can't be seen by most people that do not know to look for it.)

Ahhh, embedded information...something I should probably look more into. Thanks for the tip!

Dune

How do you do that... embed information? Is it a very vague/transparent stamp, or a real digital code? I know there exist (payable) possibilities, but for me that's too much of a hassle.

Very well done! All complete artwork!

I just use a brush in a paint program with the text. Have it in a separate layer. Then use the merge functions to blend it in. Later when you mess up the color palette or reduce colors, it will show up.
