This is the base terrain of a terrain I will be working on next week. I fixed the displacements of the cliff sides. They look a little like someone stepped into paint here.

Has great potential. Looking forward to the terrain being dressed with trees, etc. Maybe tone down some of the more knobbly, and spiky bits of displacement.

I hope I realise I don't exist before I apparently die.

Knobby is the right term. ::)

I did and I was working on the pops when I had to go to work. AH, to be rich and have all the time in the world to do Terragen 2 renders! 8)

Looks intriguing. Fake stones look good.

Nice detail on the terrain - I should use displacements more often myself :)

Linda McCarthy

Cool displacements, njeneb!  Lookin' good!  I look forward to seeing what you do with this.  Linda

I added some plants to this one. Mr.Lamppost's 3c bush, Marc Gebhart's Chestnuts and Pines. I am going to do another render of this one with better clouds and lighting, and POV. This was mainly a check for how the populations of the plants look.

I'd be tempted to either a) decrease the scale of the plants, or b) decrease the wave scale in the water, as they don't seem to quite match. Also, I'm guessing there will be a soil and grass layer to come?

Henry Blewer

The water will probably be very smooth. I want to try using the built in grass layer for reeds. This took 2.4 GB to render with just three populations. I do not know how much more the computer will handle without choking. :P

I guess it really depends on the POV I select. There are many interesting places to 'zoom' into. Plus, this is a large heightfield, so there may be other locations I have not looked at.

Could still do with a bit more soil; a wee bit too much exposed rock. But overall it's coming on fine.

I have problems viewing the image, maybe this particular flickr-server is down at the moment? Would be great if you could post a small version to look at here in this thread, thank you! :)

Seems to work for me fine. Try it again. It might have been a Flickr glitch, they have them occasionally.
