I like this. I think this could be improved by adding a surface layer with the strata plugged into the surface layer. Turn off the color (? try it with a rock color variation) and reduce the coverage to 60%. This will break up the layering, which I think is too strong.

I think the water is too green (but a little murky green is nice), and the water is too rough. But a great start and POV/composition.

The green of the water is interesting, yet it looks like you can walk on it as it is thick as jelly... maybe a bit more transparency would help?

Reminds me of the backgrounds in picture books of Dinosaurs. It's a very good start. I am not sure how to offer any ways to make it better.
