 :o Beyond that I don't know what to say...it's awesome! If you don't mind the asking, what is the black blob just to the left of the middle of the image? Is it another of the spiral-ish buildings? If it is I think the image might be more pristine looking without it, besides that stunning work :)

hehehe.. from a closer look it appears you have a single tree floating in mid-air :D

otherwise it looks great, i like the tree distrobution on the mountain in the background

Very nice!
I like the vast scale of this one, well done :) Nice integration of NWDA products.
I'd like to see the tree-population somewhat denser in the distance and since you know me well you probably know what I think about those 2 shiny things :)

I struggled with the to-be density of the tree distribution and decided for a sparse one. This is the end of the tree line my friends ;)

Question about the Hero Rock Version 2, is it an update/upgrade from Version 1 or a Completely different Product ??? Nice work on the moutain. A little light on this side of the fence to define it a little bit would be nice. That is where TG2 would benifit from added lights that only influence the objects you want.

Hi Thelby, the fake stone and hero rock pack V2 is an update from V1. It's free for all customers of the previous version.

The fence is relatively dark wood, and it appears dark against the bright snow, for which the camera exposue is optimized. It will likely look similar on a photo.

Dramatic view - gotta love WM2 :)

Did you use WM to grab alpha maps for your snow surface or did you use a regular distribution shader?

Edit: 'snow' not 'slow'  ::)

actually, and I'm probably disclosing this a little too early, the entire landscape is part of a proof of concept for a new type of NWDA product.
In a nutshell the idea to produce a whole heightfield-based landscape, with interesting terrain features and lots of possible great POV's, and procedurally enhanced in TG2, so that the finished product will have some brilliant small-scale detail everywhere, already out-of-the-box.
The beauty (and the challenge) is to use relatively low-resolution heightfields, in order to be nice to memory consumption, and just about the right procedural enhancements to make this look like a vast and real landscape.

That being said, I'm only at the beginning of investigating the possibilities for such a potential NWDA product type. Martin has another example of this concept cooking. He'll probably post a render today. You'll be amazed, this much I can already tell you!

So far the product idea seems possible and the results are encouraging, but no promises yet this will happen. :)

yes, all the flow, wear and deposit maps come into play. The maps will be embedded in the to-be-shipped scene, so that users can switch them on and off, or re-use them for their own modifications.

Ehhrr...I guess that will be tomorrow, have quite some rendertime to go :)
I'll never ever rendering again something with softshadows in full HD :D

The concept of heightfields with procedural enhancements sounds interesting, particularly with these togglable (is that even a word?) maps. It would be nice to see the "naked" terrain - I guess you'll show these when the product's "cooked"?
