hey

I decided to test Marc Gebhart trees as well :)
Here is a small render.

grass and flowers by Walli, of course ;D

FrankB

very nice! It looks like "just a few steps outside from Ryan's Park" :)

Also, I like how the brown soil is shining through the grass clumps. I've seen two great proofs now for the quality of Marc's Sugar Maple. Looks like a "must-have" :)
Again, Franck, great render :)

I really like the detail of this tree. I have been looking at it while a render is going for some time now. It's a very believable tree.

This render shows the tree off very well. Great work!

awesome work! by the way, what type of filter did you use for this? my guess would be catmull rom. it's amazing how you can still see very good detail in the shape of the leaves, even over a great distance. i've been having a problem achieving that and thought i'd ask if you didn't mind sharing. ;)

If you don't have the latest Deep version then it may down to the new object raytracing rather than the filter. The object ray tracing makes a big difference in some cases, such as this I would say.
