An image depicting the desert at nighttime. Files used are:

•   Night Background clip file - by dandelO available at the Planetside forum.
•   Canyon - by Tangled_Universe - available at NWDA.
•   Dry Shrubs - by Walli - available at NWDA.

The planet provided (used as the moon) with the Night Background file was overlaid on the sun. The visible disc of the sun was unchecked. Two cloud layers were added - one for above the horizon; one for below the horizon. Both cloud densities were set very low as were their altitude.

I have some other points of view in mind for future scenes.

Great night scene. It's hard to get the light right in these (I avoid them). I like the planet/light source idea!

Thanks Kadri for visiting. No, the plants do not have shadows. Applying cast shadows to the sun will ruin the glow effect of the moon.

I like that low lying fog. Gives an eerie effect. The scale of the canyon wall really puts things into perspective! NIce work here Bob!!!
Also this would be a good place for a Fox, Coyote or Wolf howling at the moon

Thanks Mark for visiting. I like this technique and plan to use it again using a Coyote now that I have a kin to that species - thank you. First, I must find that perfect POV ...something for the future.

Spooky is right. I've gone out in the desert at night when we have a clear moonlighted atmosphere (with a friend of course). And, with some haze/ fog (usually in the autumn), it is a whole different world. You've got to watch your step since there are a lot of little creatures you don't see during the day.

Really nice atmosphere in this one. The rock face  almost looks transparent in places. Lovely scene.
