This is just a quick Sci-Fi I did while waiting for my RAM to arrive, I now have 8Gbs 
I need to get more color variation in this type of work and practice more of my skies. My clouds suck I know, but for this scene these semi-circular ones kind of fit, what do you think?

Agree with Walli - really like the foreground. And it's true these clouds work quite well here. If you are not a purist who wants to do everything himself, it's worth buying a few of the cloud pre-sets from NWDA. Picking them apart can be instructive.

I am only curious on one thing ;is the big planet a little deformed or do my eyes mislead  me , Thelby ? If so , do you know why ?

Yes, the oval shape of the big planet comes from the camera being at 35MM. I tried to adjust it to 55MM, which corrects alot of the bent or bend in the sides of a scene, but I had to back-up the camera to far and it put me in the cliff behind the camera.  The longer the focal point the more acurate, (up to a point),  the sides will be. I could have post worked it correctly, but it is just a fun scene I did while readying for my next landscape.

I was basically playing and seeing how much I could distort things, a litle to much maybe!!!

Thank You Eoin. Of all the softwares I use, lighting seems to be my strong point. I have always liked realism and with the proper lighting anything is possible. I have a couple of Bryce that look real in my gallery over at RDR, yes Bryce. As bad as it is, with the proper lighting it can fool seasoned users.

Not a bad guess at all. The large planet is of course Io, I reworked it in Photoshop to be seamless. The little moon is Ganymede and again worked the same way Io was to be seemless. Even though they are small and one an asteroid with a little work they make very good planets or moons. Ganymede makes a great moon because of all the craters and the color.

I like to rework maps of other planets and moons (Ganymede and Mars for example) so they're almost completely unrecognizable. They make great fictional planets. To see them, click the globe under my black hole. You'll be taken to my site, where many great maps are hosted.
