actually i try out to create new terrains with terragen. this is my latest render. hope you like it.

I would add some more color variation to the stone of the island. This is pretty good. I like the POV and I like the water. One thing I would ad is some low clouds in the distance. A storm coming, it would add drama and more interest.

@ Eoin: i used aa3 and deteil 0.7 GI 2/4

The Mountain is to much exaggerated on the Y . If this is what you want ignore me  
The trees would be better if they were at least 1/3 or 1/4 maybe smaller too.
The trees look like they have to much luminosity or such,
especially in the shadows they look strange from a lighting point of view .
This has potential for a good image . Keep improving it

its a good start...

did you enable GI detail? GI detail should only be enabled if your camera is close, or low to the ground, otherwise its a waste of render time...
