Thanks so much Hetzen, your icy water settings are giving hot results! Took a lot of tweaking and adjustments but Wow.
Here's a detail teaser at low res - AA 3 detail.3.
Takes a long time though.

I think it would be really cool if you work this technique out and make it available, through NWDA CS for example.
The preview looks really really promising!

Great meltdown! Now only diminish the highlights a bit, I'd say. I second Martin's appeal to publish.

I agree, this is looking very good. I'd only lower the specular highlights, or recolor them.

Well that's kind that you've stuck my name on that, but it's actually your tweaking that has got the result. 8)

Very nice work! At the current resolution, it looks very convincing. Could you maybe render a crop at higher detail to see how it holds up?

Thanks for all the positive replies guys :)

@ old_blaggard: at higher res it does loose some of the "crispness" but holds up pretty well. Take a look at http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=8611.msg92795#msg92795

@ TU/ Dune re publishing via NWDA. It's Hetzen's technique so it should be for him to say. I only played with the file and tweaked to my satisfaction. Having said that it's a very simple set up and is already available as in this thread!
And it takes an age to render!

Dune

You're right, Kevin. With a little experimentation and the comments provided here almost anyone should be able to reproduce this. But you can always post a tgd or tgc for those who want it simple...
