Rim of dark colors around my white fluffy clouds?

Hi I'm a newbie who has only played with Terragen 2 for the weekend. So far I am having a lot of fun rendering planets.

One thing I cannot figure out is that all my attempts at rendering cumulus clouds have been disastrous. As you can see from the picture below, my single layer of white fluffy cumulus clouds are surrounded by dark clouds. I have spent several hours tweaking the variables but nothing gets rid of it. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Could you post the tgd file? It's hard to tell what is happening from the image.

Forget Tuesday; It's just Monday spelled with a T

Here's the tgd file. Its just a simple planet with an atmosphere and a layer of cumulus clouds. Nothing else.

I tried this* and get the exact same problem. It doesn't happen when you switch to 3D.
Looks like a bug to me.

Self shadowing in 2D clouds doesn't work well from above. It should be OK for thin cloud layers.

Just because milk is white doesn't mean that clouds are made of milk.
