I would use Walli's pines and the Grand Fir mixed together in clumps. Marc Gebhart's pines also look very nice. Open up some pars of the shore for grasses and/or shrubs. The differing vegetation and breakups will look more natural.

More variation in the vegetation will definitely help, unfortunately I don't know think adding bushes and grasses would help much since the shore line is so far away from the camera...but I will experiment. ;)

Why not use dandelo's fake grass?

::) Silly me, how could I forget about that?! I'll try it out but I am unsure of how it will turn out due to the harsh lighting; I may have to lighten the terrain some to get it to show up.

It may be enough to have the shoreline break up a little in places. Clumps of trees or clumps of no trees.

In all, I like it just the way it is ...marvelous creation!

It's been too long since I've last updated but here the next full version finally is. I like the trees better in this one and I think I am close to finished with the clouds. However I did forget to enable some of the planets and I also want to work more on the primary moon/background planet's clouds.

I like this version very much. It's been a really awesome image right along, but this one is the best,

Thanks everybody :) This has really been a fun image to work on, even if it takes a while to get right.

Gotta say I love this image. Especially the colors. Would make a nice wallpaper if the resolution would be a tad bit bigger!

Gannaingh

Thank you! I definitely will be rendering a 1920 x 1200 or possibly a tad larger for those people with giant monitors ;D
