hello people, i have been following tutorials the past few days on creating awesome environments. 3dsmax is way to time consuming creating realistic environments.

Anways i need help. "moving the camera in the 3D preview doesn't really change the camera's parameters UNLESS you hit "set camera" (with the button below the 3D preview). Once you hit "set camera", you can then set the animation keys (position and rotation) in the camera's node dialog."

I have no idea where the set camera button is. can someone make an image of the menu pointing me out where? Thank you.

Here you go.

After I read it again I don't think the image I showed is what you wanted. Sorry. Perhaps the set camera button is not the proper name for the button. The image shows the "copy this view to the current render camera" which I think some refer to as the set camera button. I could be wrong.

Was that what you were looking for?

euh now im stuck with another problem. i am supposedly needing to press this animation button at the camera settings

"animation button for Position and tell it to add a keyframe"

that, where is that button located -_- ?

in each node dialog, before the actual parameter, there's a little button with an "S" shaped sign and a smaller "A" right next to the "S". If you click on that, another small dialog opens and that gives you the choice of "set animation key".

Frank

I'll create a little video to show you (and everyone else)...

here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4ULGYzthmc

(also added this to the user wiki, right into neuspadrin's animation article here http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Introduction_to_Animation_in_Terragen )

Nice. You gave us a great example. 8)
I wish my computer rendered this fast! I'd be 4 to 5 minutes a frame.

ok thank you, but my 'setting key frames' button only says: "import from text file" and never says "set animation key"

Seth

do you have the complete version with animation module ?

Oshyan

"Set Camera" used to be the name of the button. I don't recall when it was changed.

You will need the Deep + Animation registered version to animate.
