I built a 1/3 scale radio controlled one when I was a teenager. It hit a large wave wake from a speedboat, and flipped over. Now it's on the bottom of Canadagua Lake. ::)

Nice !  I love hovercrafts - want to build myself one since years ...   but unfortunately here in germany are not many places where it is allowed to use it :(
At least on private ground.

For those who are interested - there are a few companys offering hovercrafts, plans and kits on the web. Universal hovercraft e.g has also a winged model which is somehow able to fly (but I think not as high as the one from the video above)
