OK Guys

My very first Terragen render and my very first problem!
:D
Look forward to comments, good and bad but also have a question relating to the top of the tallest outcrop. You'll notice that it has a flat top. This only appears on the main render. On my test renders at lower resolution it wasn't there. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I have tried rendering a crop of the exact area only and it still does it.

If you used a height field, then used the adjust vertical operator, this would occur. The tallest column rock has hit the 'top' value of the settings.

Forget Tuesday; It's just Monday spelled with a T

Thanks man
I'll look at that later.
Why would it only occur on the main render at 2560 x 1920 but not on my smaller test renders?
Something to do with amount of pixels involved?

The large render size problem I don't know about. My computer is way too slow to do that size.

OK.
Don't think that it's anything to do with a heightfield adjust, I didn't use one.
I'll try an inbetween render tonight to test the results. Frustrating one this!

Hi there,
one thing you could try is increase the displacement tolerance value
in the planet settings. This cut off thing is a known issue btw and
you should be able to find more about it using the search engine.

Hi J

Yep, that worked.
I found that you should only up it a little though, otherwize you lower the quality of the background.
Thanks very much for your help.
