Well, all. I am out of here. Terragen 2 has been a interesting yet frustrating experience. Unfortunately it lacks to many features that i require for my projects so perhaps in a few years with some hardware evolution as well things might improve by then. So until then, signing off.

You should stick around, make TG work for you instead of you working for it.
Don't disappear completely, I'd never have thought to try certain things without your recent input to the forums.
At least keep it as a hobbyist app', you don't need to vanish, dude!

Why does everybody who has some kind of problem delete their account on the forum? To make their exit seem more dramatic?
Maybe it's just me but such an exit tends to look pretty pathetic.

I think i get why some forums make it hard to delete the accounts .
There was a funny (for most of the reader!) topic in the Newtek forums where someone was trying to delete his account and couldn't do it.

Not wanting to hijack the topic, but I know how he feels :p

I've had to scale back my enthusiasm a little to not get overly frustrated. Don't get me wrong, I really like Terragen, but sometimes it's difficult to be a perfectionist with this kind of software. But maybe one day I'll have my workflow locked down, I'm about halfway there!

@Tempaccount, for a long time I just worked on the shaders tab. It takes time to learn where things are and when to use them. I am still doing this actually. But even with simple setups and color you an produce images which people like. Take a look at my early Terragen 2 renders in my Flickr photostream. There are quite a few there I am still quite happy with.

Go to the File Library and use / tear apart / learn from others.  This is a good way to get confidence and learn a lot more than otherwise possible.  

Then, once you get the basics down to your own satisfaction, ask questions. I have never seen someone here blast anyone for asking a real question.

I agree about the "hardware evolution". It's not TG2's fault but computers are simply too slow. This is why I haven't been using TG2 for ages but I'm not deleting my account. I have a Macbook Pro here now which should be reasonably faster than my previous set up. The dream would be Linux rendering since my other computers will always be Linux now. Linux rendering alone would be fantastic. All I require for working in the actual TG2 app is reasonable rendering speed for previewing so the Macbook should be OK but the Macbook was bought for audio. TG2 working better is a side product. No Windows any more. Wine TG2 works but is problematic.
