Finally, an influential website (Gizmodo) has laid down all the details regarding the horrible nature of the RIAA and why they should be stopped. Apparently the RIAA even wants to circumvent the court system altogether. They are also responsible for Digital Rights Management (DRM) which prevents the consumer from fair-use of their legally bought music and videos from online sources. You know that song you bought from the iTunes store the other day? Well you can only play it on your iPod and in authorized accounts thanks to the RIAA, which conflicts with the fair-usage policy. Spread the word around, more people need to know how horrible the RIAA really is.

Yeah... DRM has been the main reason why my music and video collection hasn't grown much in the last few years.  I guess I'm already part of the boycott ;).

The sad fact is that in reality any encyrption can be crack and the media one always seem to be the fist to go, the HDDVD and Blu-Ray copy protection encrysions are already broken.

I heard about HDDVD but not Blu-ray getting cracked.  I'm curious... could you link me to the article?

I heard that Blu-Ray was capable of using an extra, better form of encryption. What happened to that?
