What do u mean by warranty ran out 1 year ago?  The whole computer's warranty or all individual components? Because the warranty for the whole computer is different from the individual components, atleast if it is a pre-built system like most computers are. You can still have few years left on the CPU even if the computer warranty ran out.
The store that sold the computer might have 1 year warranty for the whole package but manufacturer of the individual components might still have few years left..
