Acceleration and deceleration at begining and end of animated paths.

I searched through the forum and couldn't find an answer.
If I animate a camera move from keyframe 1 to say keyframe 300 I find that the camera accelerates and decelerates at the beginning and end frames. Not a problem, rather a feature :) The effect is quite subtle and only shows up after I have done a full render, its not apparent in the preview.  Does this behaviour also happen for other motions. For example if a set a start and end point for my Sun will it speed up and slow down in a similar way?
Cheers :)

All keyframe interpolation is done with a Catmull-Rom interpolation method. Other interpolation types, e.g. Linear (no "ease-in" or "ease-out"), will be available in the future. You can generally control the acceleration with additional keyframes close to the ones where there is unwanted speed changes.

Thanks Oshyan :)
I'm animating a sunrise from space and will need to add in the "sun" and lens flare fx in post. Lightwave uses Catmull-Rom interpolation as well (although it can be adjusted) so I should be fairly painless :)
