what does render to exr mean ???

leafspring

It means you save the output as an image with a high dynamic range and convert it to a lower DR afterwards.

How do I get a high dynamic range ???

leafspring

You get it by default. TG2 renders afaik in HDR which allows to save the rendered image directly as an EXR.

Kasalin, i dont know what image editing programs you use, but-
you will need Photoshop CS2 or higher, or PhotoMatrix to open/view/edit exr files, i'm not sure what other programs support them.

You can use XnView and IrfanView too. They are free.
