Mor, are you just using just a cloud PF for your tree distribution? 

try blending it with the distribution shader, and check min./max. altitude constraints, then figure out what altitudes they need to be set to so there closer to the water.

i'm using it for all my trees in my project.

I'm using a distribution shader. For now the trees are on purpose higher from the shores.

I've been experimenting how to get specular highlights done and here's one version. Also lowered tree level a bit  8)
