Sorry, I'm a bit late to posting in the wips. I've been working on a few things and mixing them in with Daniils really good erosion plugin, and this is the culmination so far. The strata widget is smothering things atm but I think this is the direction I'm going to be going.

Can't wait to see where this goes!
Good of you to post, and this is looking as a very nice startof. Looking forward to more. I thought you were one of the 'secretives' ;)
Looks promising, Jon! Curious to see, where the journey goes.
Thanks guys. I've tweaked things more into scale. I'm going to work on the cliff slope some more, then a bit a masking work.

Ah, a frontal piece of rock too (I have added a vantage point rock a few days ago). Your rock face is also pretty much like mine atm. Very cool! This is going to be a nice 'fight' 8)
This is the kind of terrain I wish I could do! 8)
Not sure about a fight Ulco. :) I'm enjoying trying to get things the way I want them atm.
Yeah Jo it can be a bit of a battle sometimes.
Blocking more parts out now. I'm going to re-look at the cliff face noise after I've worked on the rock fall some more.

This is already looking much better than the previous rock wall. More subtle. I also like the boulders on the shore. Btw, that's why I wrote it between '' ;)
Yeah I know mate.
I've been working on a few things separately, so it's been a case of bringing them together.
Looking very good. I even like the slight overhang at the top. That will look great once it's covered with grasses.
oohhhh... I really like these, :) :) specially the parts above the cliffs.
good start too.
Thank you both. It's a toss up between sharp or slightly curved cliff top edges at the moment, but yes you often see a turf over hang/cross section.
Really like this a lot, and agree with Richard on the overhang...
Terrific structures, really looking forward to seeing this textured!
Thanks Bobby. Thanks Mick. I'm a little behind on this, I've had some last minute work come in. 10 days left, right?

nice mudslide! :)

nice mudslide! :)
Haha. Yeah, textures are a bit off atm.
Great Structures but your main cliff is very shadowed.
A definite contender once you are through .. I am sure ;)
Could you finish the scene? Looked good.
Unfortunately not. It's still rendering! 36hrs and counting. :(
Sad! Curious what you made.

Pity I loved this project!
Thanks guys. I'll post my efforts once I get a render.
It's April 11 already, Jon!!! I do hope you finished and submitted in time. For you, that is ;)
So it took a little longer to render. I had a double reflective shader in my rock fall. Anyway, this is the result of a Cornish off-season holiday my wife and I with our dogs took in Mid march just after the snow. The apartment we rented had these Cornish holiday railway posters on the wall, which depicted a stylised mid summer break holiday to some of Cornwall's most iconic spots. Well it rained 6 of the 7 days we were there. We had the right clothes so it wasn't a problem.
With this project I wanted to explore how I could get a broken strata to work with the landscape using Daniils erosion plugin. It's the culmination of a few ideas that I learnt a significant amount in combining. I had a lot of fun with this.

Wow! That "stacked" rock strata effect is *super* cool.

Very nice! So this is a crop of the total. Have you finished the total too? Double reflective shader (and RT too?), but I don't really see it here ??? I often try to have no reflection at all beneath water level, as you sometimes get pinpricks of light under water that can't be there. And reflection/transparency of water AND RT reflective mud or so takes a huge time to render.
Really nice job, looks like somewhere I have been.
Good job. I thought I recognised that coastline :D
Nice work.
Thanks guys.
Ulco, it's cropped. I was going with the wider shot but never got happy with the framing, and things became too far away to become hero, so went for a 100 mm lens to pull things together in frame. The render problem was the seaweed had reflective shader with RT unintentionally switched on, so after seeing that half the frame had rendered in 3 hours I felt confident that the render would pop during the day Monday.
Very nice job, and POV, You have created a terrain that suggests many possibilities of shooting.
Just the right amount of everything! Grand view! Good Luck! :)
Looks great, Jon!
Nice cracked strata. 8)
