Title: Old projects catagory
Post by: bobbystahr on March 04, 2017, 01:00:33 AM
Started this in spring 2016 and never continued due to issues with the Terraplane's grill. Well they're still unresolved as I can't get the mapping to work, you might not of known had I not blown my cover but that's me. There is also an issue with the glass re:blsck artifacts looking through 2 panes in the left corner porch windows. That likely played into my stopping as well but boredom causes me to render the most unlikely things.

Looking at it here large it appears the vehicle is on steroids...If I can't fix that grill it will be replaced. I've been exhibiting nostalgia for the Hudson brand as I car pooled to grades 10, 11, 11 and 11 in a Hudson Hornet, green no less....great car.

Leaves are on steroids too, but the car is not that 'too large', imo. Workaround for the black glass in the back windows might be an opacity map (simple shape) to get the windows completely out.

Yeah, was thinking of ditching them as it's an obvious summer setting and they're fall leaves. The large isn't the problem, it's the grill, the attachment shows how it should look but he has chrome in one spot which make the body coloured louvres chrome as well.
Was thinking just make the windows reflective as there's nada inside to see, same texture inside and out, and I have to drop the garage to the ground.

I see what you mean, but you might just repaint the texture on that grill, make it finer. If it's texture.
Do you have lights in the house? Seems pretty light inside, which is my problem with houses as well (mentioned lately). You've got other 'problems' with the interior of the house, so you might want to make those less transparent too. Just dirty and partially reflective.

Yup there's a light inside the house as originally it was a scene I was playing with light beams out the window, the car just appeared one day in my !Cars directory and I've no memory of downloading it. When the light rays test went south I added the car and the garage made by my neighbour Basil in trueSpace....a model of his childhood garage/workshop. I'll try it with the dirty/reflective  approach but may replace that Terraplane till I can get the grill right. It comes with maps that should be adequate to the task but can't get them to map correctly and as that's not my forté I think I'll move on to another one of my hundreds of vehicle models.

The Terraplane was to scale and in correct proportion so I scaled the man, house and garage to it...gonna try a quickie render.

Not so quick on this old dell
