Title: Chalk Cliffs
Post by: schmeerlap on December 12, 2023, 01:50:03 PM
I picked up Walli's Pinebark2_bump texture this afternoon (Dune reposted it this morning in a reply to Stormlord)
Anyway, I thought it would make a nice heightmap. So I used it as such for the foreground terrain.
The trees are Tree It trees (including the dead tree).
The Purple Deadnettle is from the pack that came with Terragen. (remind me who the creator is ).
So I started building the scene at 2 o'clock this afternoon, and here it is.

Hi John

Cool idea, to use a simple bump map for terrain.
Never tried it... Very cool, it looks good by the way....

It seems that you often use the same plant models?
In the beginning I also had only a few plants in my library.

But there are some free packets from Terragen available for download.
https://planetside.co.uk/free-downloads/

Also at the XFrog page, there are also some free plant models also as tgo's available !
https://www.xfrog.net/product-page/xfrog-world
just scroll down, look for "free sample" sticker.

This is also available!

Are you able to convert plants into tgo's ?
If so, I have more tips at hand....

Get an account, search for plant, sort by price (enter 0€), there are some good plants for free!

Great idea, John. So actually the small tree is standing on a huge fallen tree...
