Title: Looking for Help/Tutorials for Eclipse in Skybox
Post by: Mekhollandt on July 16, 2021, 02:51:09 PM
Hey guys,

Very new here. I have been trying to do make an eclipse look for a skybox in a game engine. I have so far been able to make some amazing backdrops for some scenes, btu I'm struggling on where to start with making what looks like an eclipse. Is there anyone here that could point me to a tutorial or anything that might help to make such a thing.

So far, I've tried just creating a second planet, and trying to place it in front of the sun, but seem to be struggling with just that (i.e., can't seem to get the moon to move high enough to occlude the sun). Any help on where to being with this would be great.

Thanks!

You can click on the moon in the 3D Preview to gain access to its XYZ draggers to fine tune placement.

I uploaded an example project to the skies and atmo section of the file sharing forum.
