Title: Solar System Model
Post by: WAS on August 09, 2018, 10:30:52 PM
Been looking at a lot of the animation stuff people have been doing over the years (lot to look through still yet) and gotta say there's a lot of fascinating stuff in there. I was curious, has anyone ever attempted a solar system model with TG's planets/spheres?

That should be an interesting project, for sure. I wonder how TG would handle the distances though. Surely some kind of miniaturization would be necessary to keep the numbers and maths manageable.

Yeah I'd imagine something scaled would be appropriate. Value wise It'd be easier to work with too hehe.

It's all relative anyway, as that system fits on a chip  ;)

Well, it can be to scale. I play KSP every day with Real Solar System mod. Scales are accurate down to the meter. All about that RAM and texture quality haha. Low res solar system.

Is this what you play WAS?  https://www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/en/?page_id=7 (https://www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/en/?page_id=7)

It is indeed, and the Universe Sandbox simulation. I released a graphics mod for earlier versions of KSP, though probably still compatible. Called "BlueHarvest +GEM-FX" using ENB Shaders with custom shaders and a friends custom shaders (GEM-FX; which is it's own stand alone proprietary shader suite now).

Just found this recently: http://spaceengine.org/ Which looks really fascinating.
