Hi all,
Ryan has made available a pretty cool tech pack for fantasy clouds @ NWDA. Make sure you check this out.
The pack is available for free at the NWDA Tech Pack store: http://nwda.webnode.com/terragen-2-preset-packs/
Best regards,
Frank
Hey Frank,
Thanks for the freebee! I'm sure it will get our clouds looking better in no time. From the tech packs that RArcher has put pics up for, these look very worthwhile.
Arrr, This be pleasin' to me eye :o
I tore some of the Fantasy Clouds apart. I picked up some new knowledge. I was surprised that the clouds look so good even rendered at Optimal setting. Thanks!
Nice, all stickied up, and a free pack.
Hello all,
today we are pre-announcimg the NWDA Sunset Pack II.
Our second incarnation of NWDA Sunsets will be available shortly. The NWDA Sunset Pack II will feature 5 different style of beautifully arranged sunset skies, that render fast and can be easily integrated into your Terragen 2 scenes.
See a few example render here:

Frank
Hi,
today we're announcing the availability of Walli's "Dry Bush Bundle Pack"!
Check out he product page for details: http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/details/34/dry-bush-bundle-pack
The bundle pack contains twelve (12) highly detailed and beautiful dry bush species, that you will just simply love!
The bundle is a compilation of Dry Bush Pack 1 + 2, which will be made available separately soon. The bundle has a price advantage against the single pack purchases, though. In all likelyhood, you will want both in order to be able to add realistic variety to you scenes, so check out the bundle which sells for 8.99€ (private use, 12 models), instead of two times 4.99€ (private use, 6 models per pack).
Regards,
Frank
I just picked up the "Dry Bush Bundle" and I am hoping they blend into scenes with other "Dead Bushes" I already have. They look very good and will be a welcome addition to my plants for use in TG2, Vue, Carrara or Lightwave!
Thanks :D :D :D
Thank you, Thelby, appreciate your faith with this new product. Let us see a couple of renders you make with these models.
Regards,
Frank
today seems to be a very productive day:
Finally, the Sunset II Pack is generally available at http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/details/18/7/preset-packs/sunset-pack-ii
It can produce extremely stunning sunset skies, all aspects of the nodes have been very carefully optimzed.
Cheers,
Frank
Today we're announcing the availability of the "Alpine Mountain Pack":
http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/details/39/7/preset-packs/alpine-mountain-pack
QuoteThe Alpine Mountain Pack allows you to create convincing alpine terrains that look just like the real thing.
The Alpine Mountain Pack contains the presets needed to create our convincing alpine mountain displacements. In addition, this pack comes with a realistic procedural surface.
Whether your camera position is near or far: the package has been designed to hold up even against close-ups. Typically, alpine fractals have a very limited amount of detail, but not so the Alpine Mountain Pack!
You can choose between 2 displacement types for the mountain outcrops, giving you distinct results. Both outcrop types can be customized to apply softer or stronger displacement, depending on your personal preference or scene requirements.
The entire alpine mountain landscape is fully procedural - no imape maps, no heightfields. Because of this you have full freedom of choice as to how you want your alpine mountains to look like.
The Alpine Montain Pack comes with a fully procedural color surface as well - however if you would like to apply your own surface mapping, or want to integrate just the mountain shapes into an existing scene, both terrain and color are separated in the node network, and also are available as distinct clip files for terrain and surface.
The last image is very realistic. Should be a Great seller!!!
Hi,
I hereby announce the availability of my sand shader @ NWDA :)
http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/details/40/7/preset-packs/sand-shader-pack (http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/details/40/7/preset-packs/sand-shader-pack)
With this easy to use shader you'll have the possibility to add 2 different flavors of sand-ripple shapes which both come in 12 color-variations!
All functionality is packed in one single node which allows easy integration into your current scene.
Adjusting ripple-shape, size and colors is very easy and fast :)
Regards,
Martin
It's our pleasure to announce that Walli's Mouse Ear (Chickweed) plants are now all packed up and made available on NWDA.
http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/details/42/8/object-packs/mouse-ear-chickweed
Really sweet, these little white blossoming flowers. During our testing we found they go particularly well in combination with the Fresh Grass Pack number 3. You may want to try them out this way, too :-)
Cheers,
Frank
I was wondering where the flowers were from. They are really nice looking.
they rock !!!
Hi everyone,
Walli's NWDA Groundstuff Dirt Pack is now available here (http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/details/44/8/object-packs/groundstuff-dirt-pack)
Comes with 13 individual objects and 4 different clusters for convenient distribution ;)
Cheers,
Frank
Ryan - Your tgd's in the dirt pack library are looking for textures etc, that are on your harddrive and some are not even in the pack. Not sure how to get the many instances of textures to work now. Is there a way to globally point TG@ to the dirt pack folder to find and re-link texture paths? And what do we do with missing files like this one....
C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan.MAPTOWN\My Documents\temp\fremont-area\fremont-area.tif
Hi Daniel,
The Mission Peak example project does not include the grass object models or the terrain file. You can simply delete the objects and then generate your own terrain. The actual dirt settings do not use any image maps.
To only load the dirt, simply use one of the clip files to import directly into your current project.
Crocus Pack - by Walli (http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/details/45/10/object-packs/flowers/crocus-pack)
Three beautiful individual crocus models and three pre-configured crocus groups, made by Walli.
Scilla Pack - by Walli (http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/details/46/10/object-packs/flowers/scilla-pack)
Lovely Scillas in 3 variants and 3 pre-configured groups.
Astilbe Pack - by Walli (http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/details/47/10/object-packs/flowers/astilbe-pack)
The Astilbe pack consists of 4 beautiful individual Astilbe models.
Cheers,
Frank
I just bought and downloaded the Cumulus Atmosphere Pack V2. I tried to unzip the file, but I had a serie of errors:
C:\3D\Cumulus\Cumulus_Pack_V2_2\
Error # : 25235
Error: Error opening file
C:\3D\Cumulus\__MACOSX\
Error # : 25235
Error: Error opening file
CRC error: File C:\3D\Cumulus\__MACOSX\ could not be extracted correcly!
I also tried to render "cumulonimbus clouds close-up V3.tgd" (150*200,pixels, AA3) but I had a message:
"Unable to allocate memory for subdiv cache. You may be able to avoid this error by reducing the size of the subdiv cache in your render settings"
What does that mean in common language?
Erwan
I'll try to help you get this sorted.
I don't know why it gives you an error when unzipping, but apparently you have been able to extacts its contents regardless.
The other error during rendering occurs when TG2 is trying to allocate more free memory on your PC than is available.
If you have other applications running, they might eat up too much RAM for the scene to render.
What are you machine specs?
Yes, eventually the files seem to have been correctly unzipped (I'm using Winace).
I have a laptop, so its capabilities are limited: ::)
Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3
TOSHIBA
Genuine Intel(R) CPU
T2250 @ 1.73GHz
1,73GHz, 1,00GB of RAM
Erwan
Hi Erwan 1GB RAM is well below the recommended RAM for TG2.
It "runs" with 1GB but your possibilities are severely limited with just 1 GB.
You can try and improve usage of the cumulus pack slightly by looking into the "advanced" tab of the render node. Make sure that min threads is set to 1, and subdiv cache is low, maybe 50 or 100 MB.
Regards,
Frank
The "cloudy day" preset has been made available for free in the NWDA Community Store: http://store.nwdanet.com/terragen2store/6-terragen-2-presets/7-atmosphere-a-clouds.html
If you want to see examples, see this thread: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=10114.0

Hi all,
it's my pleasure to announce the availability of Walli's Weed Bundle Pack, an amazingly must-have bundle of ten (10!) highly detailed weeds that are just waiting for you to spice up your grass-scapes with just about that right amount of natural, non-perfect detail.
Like Walli said, this is the stuff that people like to pull out of their gardens, but in renders, this is what helps you remove the CG look of perfection, by adding a little bit of imperfection. ;)
Here's the bundle, only 3.99 (private use), a steal: http://www.nwdanet.com/buy-packs/8-object-packs/56-weed-bundle-pack.html
Not afraid of extreme close-ups :)
Cheers,
Frank
the detail on those weeds looks incredible, awesome.
walli's done a great job :)

Hello Jason,
We have lost some people's registration data, after an unfortunate combination of hardware and backup failure last year. Please send me an email, stating the email address you had used to login to nwda and I will verify. Might be you would have to register your account again. Email to webmaster (at) nwdanet [dot] com
Thanks,
Frank
Excuse me, but why can't I access the NWDA website? I'm in The Netherlands.
That shouldn't make a difference, I'm here too, but NWDA has been hacked to death and is currently down. Frank is busy with a restart.
In addition to a site maintenance notice I get this:
"Warning
Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet."
Should I just re register? the home shows bobbystahr and a...... password
