looks great.thank you for sharing.
Thanks Rene.
Curious if anyone managed to get this up and running. I installed under Windows 10 and loaded the distro's that were called for, but can't get the app to start.

Didn't, but you might try run as admin and/or do the compatibility wizard. It looked to be at least 3 years old program from what I saw in their forum. Don't know if this is an upgrade or not. I am still not able to run old TG 943 after whatever happened to mine the other day with some system reset done. I think these new mixed reality apps are coming in so.....seems like some programs are going to be limited since the older basics are not supported now.
It didn't ask me for any distro's. I just unzipped it and dragged it's folder into program files and double clicked on the exe. It ran. Didn't try to save a tree. Couldn't see how to add more than one set of child branches.
Another tree editor is always good :)
Did it like Richard, and it worked. Not too bad for a free program. (...and thanks for the link!!!).
You can create some gnarly trees here as well. The only thing that bothers me is the maximum of 250 leaves, which is by far not enough. Maybe I did something wrong...
Maybe you can make whole branches and use as 'leaves'. That's often a good way in ST as well.
You can also do that technique in Blender. If you make these as objects (obj), you would make a large tree from object then resize a duplicate or duplicates. Create a vertex group of outer branch vertices from first tree and apply duplicates as a particle system using the smaller tree or smaller group with rotation enabled. This works good for being able to rotate the branches to connect to the tree. When you have your tree fixed, apply the particle system, then group branches to tree. Export away....
Unfortunately I won't install on my offline workstation...sigh
Bobby,
It might work if you install this (DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime)

moot point atm as the workstation is down and I'm limited in space on this machine but I've bookmarked that
Thanks for the share Rene!
