Not happy with POV, veg, water, rock in water, snow and sky. I like the rock so lots of fiddling still to do!
Wow, great start, Mick!!
Great start and good shapes you got going there. Looking forward to more :)
:)
Thanks, if I ever find the magic I'm looking for it might be a good entry.
mhaze, amazing shape actually :o ;) ::) I will watch over you :-X 8) ;D
I like those rock structures.
Really great structures. And quite a believable sense of scale in the whole scenery.
CHeers, Klaus
Ooo, very promising.

Terrific start, that's for sure. I don't mind the rock in the water. It gives a point of attention. Maybe a more dramatic POV would be interesting too, closer to that rock perhaps.
Thanks all, I must admit I'm struggling to find the camera angel, pov etc needed to give the wow factor. I'll just keep on truckin and hope I get there!
Very nice

You don't know struggling...I've deleted now 14 attempts...gonna try again today as Sunday is a good creative day for me...
Only 14! I don't want to boast but this was about the148th attempt!
Haha, thus is the way of Terragen ... I have 109 tgd's in the challenge folder so far. I expect to double it by the end of play :)
Surely my favorite currently to this day for this contest!
Not the Latest but lots more done and to do!

Killer update Mick.
Opened this on big screen tv.....WOW
WOW loooove them icicles, well done on them. and a top 5 render already...
Making progress not sure which format I'm going to use yet. LOTs to do.
Wow, the second one is brillant!!
Great progress and fine work
Yeah, the detail render rocks!
;D Yet another pun bites the dust! thanks all!
Great scene and detail work!
Really liking Ver 4
EXP2_V4
That looks boss.
Keep going, you're really on to something.
The clif of the two last version is excellent but in my opinion too much visual elements in the composition.I would eliminate ice that does not seem natural or at least rework.
Ice is on the to do list. It's difficult to control. And yes it's very busy but I always do that and then cut back!
Quality stuff
Latest update, strangely the little waterfalls don't reflect in the main water :(
Killer stuff!! 8)

Really cool!! Hmm, no idea, why the falls don't reflect...
Some minor crits if you don't mind: I'm not quite sure about those ice things. To me they look a bit plasticky. Apart from that the scene (at least the crop) looks a bit like a jungle scene, so to me the ice is a bit out of place.
And the green you used for the vertical noise has a bit too much blue to my taste. And it's maybe too glossy. Looks a bit like wax running down the rock.
Otherwise a fantastic scene!!!
Yeah, the ice needs work and the veg is pure Scottish river!!! I'm glad you mentioned the green slime, I was in two minds about it. I made it from memory and will have to go check out some source images.
Terrific! But I agree with Hannes; my first 'complaint' was the plastic drippin' too. If you can make those into slime indeed, or just more rocky colors (and maybe add some hanging veggies), it'll much improve.
Strange about the reflection missing.
Agree with the other comments and agree that as this image grows the icicles seem more out of place, it's just too dern hot in that scene for 'em...please post if y figger out why the waterfalls don't reflect so the rest of us can avoid that should we be making waterfalls, ...
I hate to loose the icicles, they were a good discovery but I suspect you may be right! However I shall keep playing and make a last minute decision. Dune, I like the idea of hanging veg, If I can find time I'll have a play in ST. I've been trying to get ferns work but to no avail as yet.

Could you pop onto just the icicles with maybe a vine to get that hanging foliage?
I just made some simple hanging stuff in Ivy Generator, very easy. On a simple pole. Only made the branches.
If you want to keep the icycles, you'd have to cover/most all in ice/snow!
Thanks for that idea Dune, I'll try Ivy Gen. My theme was to be Spring thaw, hence the limited icicles. I climbed ice falls like that! I have just finished a ice free render - I think I'm going to go with that.
This is the best rock structure I have seen so far in Terragen. I agree that the icicles look a bit odd; they add nothing to the quality that is already there I. M. O.
Thank you Rene ;D Just finished an icicle free render and I have to agree the icicles go.
This looks great Mick. I agree the icicles don't need to be there. You've got some great formations already.
See I dig the icicles I think they really add an original element we don't see much in TG renders. If you could sort out the translucency I would say go with them
The problem is partly to do with translucency and partly the distribution of the populations. I'll play some more if I have time. I tend to put too much in pics so something should perhaps go.
LOTs still to do....
Playing follow the leader? NICE!
GOATS!! I just saw them lol.
I really like the shapes you are getting here and the hanging moss is a great addition.
more -
"You come down here."
"No! you come up here!"
Final! I have to go away for a few days and won't have time to do more :( I would have liked to worked more on the little waterfall.
WONDERFUL image! This would make an outstanding print! Safe travel. :)
I know the feeling, I almost always feel I've forgotten something on a big project bur sometimes having a 'time' restriction gets more stuff actually finished...great image and Good Luck.
Your rocks are extremely cool. Maybe a tad too even, maybe some pf displacement would be in place to break the straightness. Too bad you have to go and leave this wonderful work. Good luck with your entry!
8) Very nice and painterly.
Thanks all.
Very nice, I would suggest darkening up the atm to make it more spooky, however you might loose all that amazing details going on. Either way Mick, that is great render. Top 3 will be tough this year
Excellent your cliff! The aspect of the rendering is special, it makes me think of a painting!
Thankyou.
Nice image. Yes it kinda looks like a painting to me too.
