Title: Question about sharing protected .tgo content
Post by: alessandro on August 20, 2013, 09:13:03 AM
Hi, I'm very new to TG so apologies if this is old knowledge, but I couldn't find any info about this.
I'm preparing a free collection of objects to share with the TG community, but being derived from some commercial products I did, I'd like to protect .tgo files so that they can't be exported.
There is an option or a tool that I need to do it?
Thanks

Interesting question!
If not, couldn't Matt or Jo create some kind of lock?

Objects... great. I really love those ice age animals, so hope you make those available! The people at XFrog may know this as well.

The TGO's that come with the bundle deal that has Terragen2 and 3000 Xfrog plants are protected and can't be exported. So it can be done.

Ok, but it's not an option that you can trigger yourself in TG3... I mean, I need to ask assistance to TG3 folks for it I guess.

Looks like it that's right. I loaded 2 tgo's, one an Xfrog tgo and the other a model I had made and previously loaded as an obj, then exported as a tgo.
On right clicking on the model node only the second tgo, the one I had created my-self, could be exported/re-saved.
So yes give the guys at planetside a call.
