Title: Animation Compilation
Post by: Simius Strabus on May 05, 2012, 10:21:46 AM
I have a few animations sitting on my hard drive. Time to share them with the community.

Some very nice scenes in there. The cave in particular was really pretty cool.

That cave took forever to render, with all the ray tracing....
Patience is a virtue :)

I liked the most  :"Desert Planet:Orbit" , "Hazy Moon : Orbit" , "The Cavern".
Nice work Simius . I hope we see more :)

Here's a short animation I came up with while figuring out how to build a nebula.
(Here is the thread to the image sharing: http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=14469.0 (http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=14469.0))

Its kind of quick and dirty, but still okay I guess:

I found the ambient sound effect for starships in Star Trek. It fits the atmosphere. Feels like looking out the very back of the starship.

Great animations!

Why did you put the nebula one here and not in image sharing? Almost missed this one!

Also, I could not get that sound effect down. How did you download it? all I get is a web archive.

Since it is an animation I placed it over here, I guess the forum is in need of an animation section.

I've had some trouble getting the file myself, so I used a download manager.
But to help out I placed a compressed file (zip) on my site, it's about 93MB (over an hour of ambient starship noise...):
tg2.c-tron.nl/nccAmbient.mp3.zip (http://tg2.c-tron.nl/nccAmbient.mp3.zip)
Hope this works for you.

Thanks! Sorry it took so long to say so. Still not use to checking this section.

Your right its a huge file. Do you happen to know the use permissions on this audio?

Its non commercial use only. So you can't ask people money for animations etc containing this file.

Very nice.  I would especially like something shorter with a combination of some of your many elements.

I'm in the process of gathering some short animations and combining them into one big file.
Currently I'm using Windows Live Movie Maker. Anyone got some other software that runs one a Mac and is as easy to use as WLMM?

Here's something that I will put in somewhere. Testing some camera paths. When accelerating the camera beyond a certain speed, the camera starts to move back and forth.
Its a known issue and a pain in the @$$ to work around, but I am looking forward to a fix in the next software update. Its starting to bug me out...

Simius, have you upgraded to TG 2.4? You can use Linear interpolation for the camera path, or just move the control points in the curve editor to fix any weird motion.

The last camera test looks fine too!
