First or not, it's still a good render. Nice light, very photographic.

It's very good actually. The only criticism I find is with a very slight atmosphere grain. This could be from jpeg, not the render.

I really like the peaks in the left, lower side. A closer camera to these would also be a worthy render.

Wow, beautiful render. The only thing is that I want to see the trees a little more. Still a very good render... Congrats!

Wow, thanks guys! such praise is awesome coming from you guys!

I agree, I would love to make the tree's more visible, but i think i will need to use that 3 light setup as the environment light doesnt do much for me for some reason.

I have a Daytime render, but it turned out pretty bad so i'm working on fixing all the problems.
here's the daytime render:

Is that a DEM HeightField or is it the Alpine fractal shader?
it looks fanastic!
great render. :)

my suggestion whould be to make the trees a little smaller to match the scale a little better.

Thanks zaai999, actually this is a mix of Alpine, twist and shear, and powerfractle. no DEM here.

Thats a great idea, i think i waill make the tree's smaller. Although that would increase render times a lot wouldnt it? more tree's after all.

yes and no - if you lowered the spacing between the trees it would increase the render time, but if you were to resize them it would not.
though it would have to recalculate the poplation which would increase render time if you did'nt caculate it before you started the render.

Well I meant that if I reduce the size of the tree's I would have to increase the overall population density, otherwise the trees were going to be to far apart and leave to many open areas.

Thus there would be more tree's. at this point its 615,000 instances.

I agree about the tree scale. It may increase your render times, but will worth it. Once again, beautiful work so far.
