New Alien Covenant trailer. I hope this time the story matches the quality of the visuals.

hi,

I watched your link then clicked around to other vids from it.  cool to see some more imagery and I will go see it for sure.

I was reading that Prometheus and covenant are the beginnings of 2 separate story lines that will get their own movies following covenant. But that that some of prometheus will clear up in covenant, though only a little. So there will be  movies coming that focuses on the space jockeys, and more that take us to the orignal alien movies.
What I read sounded pretty speculative though. I also heard that covenant will be half about the new crew and half the film will continue prometheus.

Anyway, what I wanted to share was this link I found from yours. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpEx7pdp2-Q
I liked prometheus much more than people said I should. In this link are two film nerds pointing out that people who did not like prometheus are just stupid (in a kinda funny way rather than mean). THey claim that prometheus is among the best sci fi ever made... They do a good job of getting into the film and people here may enjoy this video.

In the new trailer for the new film, it seems again that the crew is not very likable. If I remember that was true of the alien movies too. I think this is on purpose because I think it would be hard to sit for two hours and watch people you like get killed, probably would not sell much popcorn.

In the covenant extended clip I pretty much hope every one dies quick so the move can focus on prometheus.

It is not only about questions. There are tons of movies that answer everything in it but are still trash.
Couldn't get to the end of that Youtube video of that guys. Fanboys can find answers very easily.
Especially if you look at the movie pages etc. A movie should stand by itself not on deleted scenes webpages etc.
You can find guys defending the bad prequels of Star Wars too for example.

Not all parts of Prometheus are plot holes. It is bad movie making basically.

If you watch it only for entertainment you might like it and there is no problem with this.
I was expecting a serious movie (because of the movie campaign, trailers etc.)
and found a movie that wants to be serious, but is stupid unfortunately.

Looks like they saw how stupid they were by wanting to make a 2001 about creation and are kind of rehashing Alien-s.

Prometheus visually was watchable but the story was a mess, the "Alien" concepts should have been left more a mystery, the characters were forgettable and the crew was unprofessional for being a highly funded privatized science mission into deep space and the plot was over done with ambiguity. Some ambiguity is fine but that was overdone to the point of an annoyance.

Now onto Covenant. Perhaps these characters "might" be cared for more. Again, visually it looks watchable. The crew seems not so professional like the Prometheus crew before. Hard "R" rating for shock value which brings the question in mind that being, is it there to advance the plot or just is it there because it is "scary and gory"? Did we have to know about the events that lead onto Alien? The Alien is back even though it is no longer scary.

Alien Isolation would have made a better live action film.

Speaking of the original Alien, the danger was more believable. A crew just hauling ore who are placed into an unknown situation they do not not know how to handle and sometimes turn on one another. The acting seemed more natural as well and the Alien concepts were so mysterious and left that way until Prometheus came along.

The more time goes on, the less I am convinced anything worthy can ever come out of Hollywood anymore.

I just like popcorn and big screens with good sound.

I do very much like the sub text in the films though. And I am fascinated by the engineers mythos.

Certainly, there is nothing wrong with that. However these types of films were supposed to be taken more seriously, at least as in the case of what Ridley Scott is "attempting" to portray.

The Engineers would have worked better had they been a separate species from the original Space Jockey. The Space Jockey always was a fascinating mystery that should have been kept just that.
