looks absolutely devastating..terrifying....I saw footage earlier...I hope you and your family are safe...
It was actually 8.9.
not a lot of deads considering the power of the earthquake !
Very bad :(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_%C4%B0zmit_earthquake
This was 7.6 .
If we had one of the magnitude as in Japan i don't know how many people would die here!
We are waiting for the Marmara earthquake to happen.
The Yalova (above link) was very far from where i live and it was frightening anyhow !
But the one we are waiting to happen will be right before i live .
I doubt that our buildings are much better now.
Maybe better then Yalova , but i am not sure that it will be enough.
They here , who live in an earthquake zone maybe understand some things better.
Untill the Yalova earthquake i wasn't afraid of earthquakes.
Now i am !
Don't know how i should say it in English , but i think "Get well ! " will do it.
Sorry for all the loss there :(
Yeah I heard about it. I saw the tsunami damage in Japan too (ouch!). Actually we got a tsunami watch here too in Hawaii (where I am) and actually got some tsunami waves.
I saw some videos of the thing but I cant imagine such thing for sure. It looks devastating and I can imagine the destruction but still, so far way.. We dont have more than 2-3 R earthquakes here, and even those are extremely rare.
I hope everyone is okay.
is very scary... I woke up four times in the aftershock
In the nuclear reactor near where I Now live ... that meltdown occurred
The body will not stop shaking
help
Is your family okay? The tremors will subside, but it will take some time. It was a huge quake.
Let us know if we can help.

My family was unharmed.
If a charity fund-raising campaign for an earthquake in Japan is being conducted in your country, a small amount of money is fine. It's the thought that counts.
We are with you by thoughts !

You can't thank us because we haven't done anything yet. So what is most needed at the moment? Or are you ok and don't need anything, which of course would be good news.
Regards,
Frank

Not quite the same cropping and editing. There was a 720p one even.
You could see people running for their life in the lower left and lower middle part in the video.
I think especially one man who run for help to the people was taken by the waves in the lower left part :(

I think this is nearly the same footage.
There wasn't a HD one in the first (now absent ) link .
You can feel the force of the nature in these videos :(
