I am trying to make a basic animation of this scene.
30 second or so. The first image above rendered in 26 minutes in HD.
My old system would have rendered in 70 minutes or so. So why not.
I was making small renders to see how the camera move looks.
The memory use was 27 gb after 300 frames (of 1000 frames).
I wanted to play a little Diablo 3 as Terragen rendered.
Diablo 3 refused to open and Terragen vanished
My thoughts was to buy a pc with at least 64 gb memory and possibly 128.
Hopefully 2-3 years later.
Not that the scene couldn't be more optimized. Just reopening Terragen might be help too (now it is 16 gb in use) etc.
I just slapped everything on it without regards to this kind of problems.
But this is kind of the first time i can feel the 32 gb is not enough situation.
