I discovered how to pan in the animation editor by pressing the Alt key while dragging with the mouse. I also discovered that the middle mouse wheel will zoom in the X dimension but how do you zoom in the Y dimension? I haven't figured it out.
Navigation is mostly similar to the rest of TG, including the node network. Also there's a handy key reference in TG itself. Just go to Help (menu) then Mouse and Key settings. You'll see all the animation panel keys there under "Animation Panel" (expand to see the list). And of course you can change them all if you go to Preferences -> Input Settings and choose Customize Bindings.
