Title: Footsteps in the Snow
Post by: rcallicotte on January 05, 2007, 04:13:57 PM
I'm working on creating footsteps in the snow.  So far I have one footstep.  (yippee)

This whole thing is based upon the thicksnowtest.tgd created by smoggy at ashundar.com.

footstep.jpg - the first footstep
footsteps_node.jpg - the Shader nodes I used to create the footstep in the snow.

Note that I tried to make another footstep, but am unable to see a way to have two Compute Terrains going to the same planet.  There must be a way.  I just haven't figured it out yet.  You'll notice the second Compute Terrain just hanging around waiting to plug into something.  Anything.

Frank

Thanks, Frank!!  I'll try it.  Don't know why I didn't see that one.

The footsteps look great, but that is a huge amount of work.

Yeah, but I'm not sure I did it all the way it should be done.  This represents trial and error.  LOL.  There must be something we can do with footsteps...  ???
