Title: Grizzly Knob
Post by: yossam on March 29, 2016, 01:55:48 AM
Unless the people at Speedtree have a change of heart about their EULA, this will not be entered in the challenge.  :(  There is a 8000X4000 render of this available if anyone wants to see it...............rather large 33 MB. Maybe I can put it on Dropbox for anyone that wants to see it in all its' glory.  :)

you might check with Oshyan as they were trying to get a license or something from them for the comp at least.
and as always; the best title so far in the comp....

They do have all the stuff from xfrog, maybe they can replace the trees with similar xfrog trees after submission...

Sorry, but Xfrog trees are not quite up to the quality level...............ain't gonna happen.  ;)

Well, something is better than nothing. But I guess you don't want part of the prizes then?  ;)

We're still working on the SpeedTree situation. We hope to have some clarification from them before we have to pick winners!

Looks great Yossam :)
The most i would try to change is the bear. Needs a little more work or another model maybe?

It looks pretty good in "good" lighting..............not so much in shadow. Will either replace, or move, or change the lighting (probably the easiest).  :-\

I see. As we talked in another thread there are different problems to handle in these VR images.
Hope the Speedtree problem will be gone too. I like those trees.

That's a really fine image Yossam! I'll dl the large one later to really 'see' it.  Your Speedtree trees look great. I'm optimistic that Planetside and IDV will work something out!

The attention to details, the ground and the trees are all well done. The realism is there. Great render overall.

Good on them...and smart as well as they will only benefit from the exposure.

There are a few 'ugly' rocks. You could mask them out for perfection.....

Do we have an ugly rock mask that I don't know about?  :)

Is this a serious question? If so; no, just use the painted shader or a simple shape.

Your link works great. Don't forget "view original" Took about 2 seconds to download on my connection. I put it on full screen and then magnified to examine. That is one of the few things I am bummed about in free TG 3 limiting my render size. In the old version 9, I could at least get an decent screensaver without too much distortion. Now that we have upgraded to better tv, connection, and sharing....small renders....grrrr.

I like you composition here. It is a little light.....I see you are gonna work on that. I am trying to eliminate the "cartoon look" too. Nice blend of rocks, etc....

Most 360 viewers will center in the middle of the image when loaded. So I really like that you put the bear on the end,  so It's a surprise for the viewer.

Great vegetation, and yes, the bear is a surprise, when you turn your head. A scary moment!  :)
