Title: background images
Post by: kentm on June 18, 2019, 01:27:07 PM
Hey folks,

I can't seem to get background images to work. I've followed the simple steps set out on this page: https://planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=444.0  and have succeeded in replacing the shader with a default Surface Shader and importing an image into Lum etc, but when I render all I get in the final image is a 'scrambled' image, noise basically. (images attached)

I'm making spherical renders if that makes any difference.

I've tried attaching the shader to a projection camera set to spherical but get the same results.

Thanks again for any insights,
Kent

oop - am making progress, I found the "image projection" menu in the shader...

ok - have the image rendering 'properly' into the background but cannot figure out how to change the heading of the image. Attaching a projection camera set to 'spherical' and changing its heading doesn't seem to make a difference.

Any pointers appreciated on how to change the heading of a background image, thanks!

If it's in spherical projection, you should be able to use a Transform Input Shader (https://planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Transform_Input_Shader) and use rotation.
